Led by guitarist/vocalist Roy "Kay" Konitzer, The Roy Kay Trio play purist rockabilly that owes a strong debt to such legends of the genre as Johnny Burnette, Charlie Feathers and Carl Perkins. Eschewing drums, the trio gains a quieter, but no less energetic rhythmic base in the interplay between lead guitarist Mike Geglia and upright bassist Robin Cady. Based in Seattle, the group released its first full-length CD Wanderin' Mind -- produced by Deke Dickerson -- in 2002 on Lur Liner Records.
